چکیده
Aim: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Psychodrama group therapy on the cognitive and behavioral aspects of social anxiety in female adolescents of Sirjan City.
Methods: The research was conducted using a pre-test, post-test, and 1-month follow-up semi-experimental control group design. The population was all ninth-grade female students of Sirjan schools in the academic year 2022-2023. The first sample of the study included 250 female students who were selected from among those who referred to the comprehensive health service centers using an accessible sampling method. These people answered the Adolescent Social Anxiety Scale (SAS-A; Puklek & Videk, (2008) and a structured clinical interview for social anxiety disorder based on DSM-5 and 36 of them who got at least one score higher than the standard deviation score were separated from Among them, 28 people who met the criteria for entering the research were selected and placed in two groups of 14 people (experimental and control group). The experimental group received Psychodrama group therapy; however, the control group did not receive any intervention. At the end, 12 people remained in each group.
Results:
The results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and the control groups in the post-test phase in terms of Apprehension and fear of negative evaluation (AFNE)( Cognitive component) (p <0.0001, F = 29.34) and tension and inhibition in social contact (TISC)(behavioral component) of social anxiety (p <0.0001, F = 37.9). This difference was also observed in the follow-up phase.

Abstract
Aim: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Psychodrama group therapy on the cognitive and behavioral aspects of social anxiety in female adolescents of Sirjan City.

Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) through SPSS software (version 24).

Results:
The results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and the control groups in the post-test phase in terms of Apprehension and fear of negative evaluation (AFNE)( Cognitive component) (p <0.0001, F = 29.34) and tension and inhibition in social contact (TISC)(behavioral component) (p <0.0001, F = 37.9)of social anxiety. This difference was also observed in the follow-up phase.
Conclusion: A psychodrama group therapy program emphasizing drama and creativity can be an effective and efficient intervention to reduce the cognitive and behavioral aspects of social anxiety in adolescent girls.
