The purpose of this study was to investigate the causal relationship of mindfulness, creativity and academic performance with well-being, with mediating role of psychological problems in university students. The method used in this study was correlational, the path analysis. Participants in this research were all undergraduate students of Yazd University, from whom 370 stucdent were randomly selected. The instruments used in this research were, Mental Health Test, for measuring well-being and problems, the Mindfulness Questionnaire, Creativity Test, and grade-point average of the final semester. After distributing the questionnaires and collecting the required data, analysis was performed. The results showed that the designed model was well fited to the data, and the causal relationships between mindfulness, well-being, creativity and psychological well-being were significant. Also, the direct causal relationship between academic performance and psychological well-being was significant, but the direct relationship between academic performance and psychological problems was not significant. The indirect causal relationship of creativity and mindfulness to well-being, through psychological problems, was significant, but the causal relationship of academic performance to well-being through psychological problems was not significant. The results were discussed with respect to the research and theoretical perspectives.

The purpose of this research was the validation of King’s Spiritual Intelligence Scale (SISRI-24) among students at university of Isfahan. Statistical population of the study was all students in academic year of 2008-2009, out of which 250 students were selected randomly. The research method was descriptive. The Data was analyzed by SPSS-15 & AMOS softwares, and its reliability of Chronbach's alpha was 0.88. Content and face validity of the scale were confirmed by the experts in psychology. For estimating concurrent validity, Gobari's Spiritual Experience Questionnaire was used and the alpha was 0.66. Exploratory factor analysis and first-order confirmatory factor analysis were used to assess construct validity. This study confirmed the three-factor of 24-item structure of SISRI. Findings showed that SISRI-24 is a valid scale for measuring spiritual intelligence. Regarding to its proper validity and reliability, this scale can be used in academic settings.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of creative problem solving (CPS) process training on scientific thinking, creativity and innovation in Shahid Chamran University students. The instruction of CPS process (using 12 creativity techniques in two phases of creative and critical thinking) was the independent variable and scientific thinking, creativity and innovation was dependent variables. The present study was a field experimental design with pretest-posttest and followup control group design. The instruments of this study include Scientific Thinking of Liang et.al, Abedi's Creativity Questionnaire and Cools and Van Den Brook's Cognitive Style scale. The sample consisted of 60 male and female undergraduate students, of Shahid Chamran University (2008-2009), who were selected randomly by multi-stage sampling method. The participants were then assigned randomly to experimental and control groups. Before teaching CPS process, pretests on scientific thinking, creativity and innovation were taken from both experimental and control groups. Afterwards, the experimental group was treated with CPS process, but the control group didn't receive any training. After the intervention, posttests were taken immediately from both experimental and control groups. Finally, after six weeks of intervention, followup tests on scientific thinking, creativity as well as innovation were taken. The results of MANCOVA analysis showed that CPS process training caused significant improvement in students' scientific thinking, creativity as well as innovation. Also, the results of repeated MANCOVA revealed that the effects of CPS process over time remained significant.
