Introduction Although research findings indicated the adverse and negative effect of parenting stress on mothers' marital satisfaction, the internal mechanism of this relationship and the effect of father's behavior on marital problems have not been investigated. The importance of studying the father's behavior is because the problems of married life are related not only to the mother's behavior but also to the father's behavior. Also, considering that high levels of stress in raising children harms the mother's physical and mental health and endangers the normal functioning of the family, the present study aims to: First, provide research support for family studies by examining the relationship between mother's parenting stress and her marital satisfaction. Second, provide a model to investigate the mechanism of depression and marital conflict in the relationship between parenting stress and marital satisfaction. Third, past studies of couple relationships have ignored the possible effects of empathy. In this study, father's tendency instead of empathy ability was used as a moderator in the relationship between mother's parenting stress and marital satisfaction with the mediation of depression and marital conflict.MethodThe research method was descriptive and correlation type. The studied population included all the employed couples with children from Tehran in 1401, and 212 couples were selected as a sample using convenience sampling method. Mothers responded to the Parenting Stress Scale (Berry & Jones, 1995), Self-Rating Depression Scale (Zung, 1965), Conflict Behavior Scales (Rusbult et al., 1986 and Strauss, 1979) and Marital Satisfaction Scale (Olson et al., 1982) and fathers responded to the Basic Empathy Scale (Jolliffe & Farrington, 2006). In order to analyze the data, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression (models 6 and 85) were used in Hayes Process in SPSS24 software.ResultsThe findings indicated that mother’s parenting stress has a negative correlation with their marital satisfaction, depression and marital conflict play a mediating role in the relationship between mother’s parenting stress and their marital satisfaction, and fathers' empathy tendency also moderates this relationship. This means that fathers can with empathy for mothers, reduce depression and marital conflicts caused by parenting stress and finally their low levels of marital satisfaction.ConclusionIn sum, these findings highlighted the serious impact of mother’s parenting stress of in keeping and caring for their children on their mental health and quality of life together, as well as the important role of fathers' empathy in reducing these consequences. The results can be used to design an intervention and a comprehensive approach to improve the mental well-being of mothers.

IntroductionTo continue the marriage, marital intimacy is essential. Intimacy is very important for a healthy relationship. This study examined the effect of marital intimacy on life satisfaction with the mediation of love, compatibility test, and marital satisfaction in Khuzestan University staff.MethodThe aim of the present study is applied research and correlational data collection was done through structural equation modeling. The population includes all employees of Islamic Azad University in Khuzestan province in 1399 these organizations were working at the end of the 17th Islamic Azad University in Khuzestan province, eight Islamic Azad University were randomly selected from each university staff Faculty of Humanities of University, where selected. To test the hypothesis of the study, 330 people were chosen to stage the random sampling method. The questionnaire for the current conditions and limits for transportation and communication about the disease, corona sampling, and Running the Internet (social networks such as cable and WhatsApp) were distributed and 308 were returned, finally, that after removing the questionnaire and also threw incomplete data, about 10 questionnaires, 298 questionnaires were analyzed (questionnaire return rate of 0.80 percent). Instruments included were a questionnaire on marital intimacy by Walker and Thompson (1983), a questionnaire by Hatfield and Rpsvn Love (1993), Spinner Inventory Adjustment Couple (1976), Bloom and Mehrabian Marital Satisfaction (1999) and Diener et al. Life Satisfaction (1985). Analysis with the help of structural equation modeling was performed using SPSS and AMOS-24. In the present study questionnaires to assess the reliability of marital intimacy, love, compatibility of couples, marital satisfaction, and life satisfaction Cronbach's alpha was used, and its value, respectively, 0.93, 0.91, 0.92, 0.59, and 0.64 respectively.ResultsThe results showed that the proposed model was fitted to the data. The results showed a positive and significant effect of marital intimacy on love, compatibility of couples, marital satisfaction, and life satisfaction; Love also had positive and significant effects on life satisfaction, life satisfaction, and marital satisfaction compatibility test to the satisfaction of life. In addition, the results also showed that indirect routes to marital intimacy through love, compatibility of couples, and marital satisfaction have a positive effect on life satisfaction.DiscussionIntimacy with the spouse, dependence, sharing ideas, joint activities, are the characteristics of an intimate couple. Therefore, love, marital adjustment, and life satisfaction can be higher in couples who have a higher degree of intimacy. In fact, couples who have more intimacy are more capable of facing problems and changes related to their relationship, and as a result, they experience more love between them, higher marital compatibility, and more marital satisfaction. Therefore, marital intimacy through love, marital compatibility, and marital satisfaction leads to increased life satisfaction between couples. Accordingly, recognizing and examining the factors that cause the stability and strength of the family, can be a useful step towards increasing the stability of married life.

Aim: The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of coping skills in the relationship between cognitive schemas activated in sexual context and marital satisfaction. The research method was descriptive-correlation and structural equation modeling.
Methods: The statistical population included all the men and women of Bandar Abbas, of whom 350 were selected by available sampling method. The sample of this study included 125 men (35.7%) and 225 women (64.3%). To collect data, the Cognitive Schema Questionnaire Activated in Sexual Context (QCSASC), the Elzaros and Folkman Coping Skills questionnaire (CSQ) and the Marital Satisfaction Scale were used. SPSS23 and AMOS software were used for data analysis.
Results: Structural equation modeling showed that coping skills and cognitive schemas activated in sexual context both directly and indirectly affected marital satisfaction in men and women. The evaluation of the hypothetical research model using fit indices showed that the hypothetical model fits the measurement model (CFI=0.97, NFI=0.99, RMSEA=0.044).
Conclusion: Consistent with the dual control model, the results of this research showed that coping skills have an effect on the marital satisfaction of women and men, and these findings emphasize that along with the coping skills of each person in marital relationships, the cognitive schemas activated in the sexual context are also important

IntroductionThe aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of schema therapy and compassion-focused therapy on marital life satisfaction and maladaptive schemas. Marital relationships are the most basic and important interpersonal relationships that create the basic structure for establishing family relationships and raising children. One of the common concepts to show the level of happiness and stability of this marital relationship is the concept of marital satisfaction. Another variable that can affect women's performance is early maladaptive schemas. Early maladaptive schemas are beliefs that people have about themselves, others, and the environment, and typically stem from the satisfaction of basic needs, especially emotional needs, in childhood. Various factors can affect and change the variables of early maladaptive schemas and marital satisfaction of women. Schema therapy and compassion-focused therapy play an important role in this satisfaction.MethodsThe present study was an experimental study with a pretest-posttest design and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population included married women students of Ahvaz Azad University in 2019 which 60 of them with a history of marriage between 1 to 5 years were selected by purposeful method and then randomly divided into two experimental groups (20 people each) and one control group (20 people). The research tools were marital satisfaction questionnaire and initial maladaptive schemas questionnaire. The schema experimental group received eight 90-minute schema therapy sessions and the compassion experimental group received eight 90-minute compassion-focused treatment sessions based on Gilbert's concepts. Data analysis was performed using multivariate analysis of covariance. ResultsThe results showed that schema therapy is effective on marital satisfaction of married women and also on four of the five domains of primary maladaptive schemas and treatment focused on compassion on marital satisfaction and on all five domains of primary maladaptive schemas. Also, comparing the means of schema therapy and compassion-focused therapy in the dependent variable of marital satisfaction in the post-test and follow-up stages showed that there is no significant difference between schema therapy and compassion-focused therapy in terms of effectiveness on marital satisfaction. Schematic therapy and compassion-focused therapy in the dependent variable of maladaptive schemas showed that the difference between the means of these two groups in none of the five areas of early maladaptive schemas in the post-test and follow-up stages was significant. Therefore, it can be said that there is no significant difference between schema therapy and compassion-focused therapy in terms of the effect on initial maladaptive schemas in the post-test phase and the follow-up phase.DiscussionAccording to the obtained results, schema therapy and compassion-focused therapy can be used to improve marital satisfaction and early maladaptive schemas in married female students.

Introduction Effective communication and the establishment of a good communication pattern between husband and wife have a prominent role in marital satisfaction and can play a crucial role in creating a sense of security and happiness for couples. The purpose of this study was to conduct a meta-analysis, examining the effectiveness of life skills training on the marital satisfaction of couples. Method For this purpose, the meta-analysis method was used as a statistical method to determine, collect, combine and summarize the research results associated with effectiveness of life skills training on marital satisfaction. To find and collect all research reports, internal databases such as, Magiran, SID, Ensani, Noomags, and Civilica, were used. Among all the studies conducted in Iran between 2010 and 2017, the articles that were methodologically appropriate in terms of population, sample size, research method, sampling method and measurement tools, have been included in the present study. Finally, 18 studies with the necessary criteria have been analyzed. Data was analyzed using standardized mean difference effect size method or Cohen's d (1988) for fixed effect model. All statistical operations were accomplished by Comprehensive Meta-Analysis, Version 2.0 (CMA-2). Results Results showed that the mean effect size of mixed-model for fixed effect model and for random effect model were significant (p < 0.001), 1.555 and 1.925 respectively. Since the effect sizes were heterogeneous, moderating variables were examined. The results indicated that in terms of research design, gender, type of training, number of life skills training and status of participant, there were significant differences between effect sizes across the studies (p < 0.05). Conclusions Overall, teaching basic life skills increased marital satisfaction in Iranian couples. However, it appears that some factors had negatively influenced the effectiveness of these studies. More studies are needed to determine the reasons for the low impact of these interventions.

Nowadays, importance of attention to couples with developmental disorders is clear to family therapists. The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of Family Consolidated Treatment of Autistic Disorders (FCTAD) on marital satisfaction of couples with autistic children and comparing it with Little Bird program. 42 couples with autistic children were selected, using accessible method, from Tehran Autism and Ava centers and divided to three groups, using random method. Measuring device was ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Inventory. Data were analyzed using MANCOVA and ANOVA, and showed that the differences of FCTAD with the other two groups on considering child, conflict, friends, leisure time (between subjects variables) sub-scales and the total score of Marital Satisfaction Inventory were significant. These significant differences remained unchanged till follow up (occurred one month after the last session of the program). Findings showed that FCTAD program can be considered as a flexible program, which adjusts itself to specific characteristics of each family, so is useful in increasing marital satisfaction of parents with autistic children.

In recent years, much research has been done on work-family and family-work conflict, its antecedents, consequences and effects on individuals and organizations. However, few studies examined the effect of work-family conflict and family–work conflict management on individuals’ work and family life. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of work-family conflict management training on marital satisfaction of female employees at Isfahan University. This research is a true experimental design with experimental and control groups. The research sample consisted of 62 female employees at Isfahan University who were randomly divided into experimental (31 members) and control groups (31 members). As the first step of the research, work-family conflict, family–work conflict and marital satisfaction of experimental and control groups were measured. Data were collected using Tett and Meyer Work-Family Conflict questionnaire and Enrich Marital Satisfaction questionnaire and were later analyzed with descriptive statistic, analysis of covariance and multivariate analysis of covariance. In the experimental group, conflict management training was conducted in seven sessions and work-family and family–work conflicts as well as marital satisfaction were measured for a second time. Results revealed a significant difference between the groups in work-family and family-work conflicts and marital satisfaction (01/0 <P). In sum, it can be concluded that presenting necessary interventions to facilitate work-family and family-work conflicts of employees can reduce negative effects of this conflict on employees’ family life and can enhance their satisfaction.
